For International Students
Mechanical Engineering Technician
It
is a three-year graduate program which provides comprehensive instruction in
mechanical engineering design, research and development. Students work in
sophisticated laboratory environment with the most current tools and techniques,
doing project-oriented assignments that simulate the workplace responsibilities
of mechanical engineering technicians. They will acquire a broad base of
fundamental knowledge, along with job-specific skills that employers seek.
The program features direct, hands-on experience with the most up-to-date
mechanical engineering computer technology, including:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Fluid power technology
- Energy systems
- Computer-assisted Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)
- Parametric solid modeling and design, using Solid works and CATIA
Students will also get a solid academic foundation in basic math and science, as
well as classroom instruction in advanced subjects such as calculus, kinetics,
machine dynamics, energy systems, and industrial practice.
Students can graduate after four terms as a mechanical engineering technician,
or stay on for a third year to acquire an advanced diploma.
